I like this light much better when it is turned on than when it is off. When the light is turned on it provides very nice mood lighting that is warm and the orange color of the lamp is pleasing. However, when the light is off, during the daytime, the orange color is a bit overwhelming. The light is easy to assemble and the two incandescent lights both dim at the same time, but not independently, which is fine. The lamp portion is made of a type of lightweight polymer and not glass, which makes it durable and lightweight."..."  Read more

These lamps are beautiful. I got the floor lamps, one blue and one red (in different rooms). The light they create is soft. It wouldn't work as the only source of illumination but is a great for adding to light and as an accent piece. My one complaint is that the base of one lamp doesn't stay on well so moving it is a bit of a hassle, but generally these are fantastic stylish additions to our home decor."..."  Read more

We have one on our kitchen table and one on the moveable island/bar in our city galley kitchen, where we needed more and ambient light. Just right.
