Founded by Léo T. Julien in 1946, Julien Inc. began by selling kitchen accessories to restaurants. Noting their need for custom equipment, Léo T. Julien opened a plant and ran it until his death in 1973. In 1978, the management team added a new plant to keep up with the company’s rapid growth. In 1986, Julien Inc. successfully developed the subcontracting market. Subsequent years were marked by design and management computerization and production automation. In 1995, current president Gilles St-Pierre and six other company executives acquired Julien Inc.. The new management focused on developing its sector and its North American and international markets. Integrating noble materials such as wood, marble, granite, and slate into sheet metal products is now a reality and a winning strategy not only for Julien Inc., but also for its commercial and industrial customers.
