We cook a lot with cast iron and have to use either wood or silicone because the cast iron will melt my plastic utensils. This turner is perfect because it will not melt like my plastic utensils and it is dishwasher safe which makes my life that much easier. It is flexible enough to get in the grooves of a pot, but firm enough to stir and keep food from sticking. The kettle works great and performs as advertised. Though I was expecting the kettle to be a little heavier duty for the price paid --It's as light as models less than half its price. I don't care for the fact that it opens directly under the handle either as I use a water purifying pitcher and its inconvenient to have to pour it at just the right angle to avoid the handle. So if OXO wants to be truly innovative, with consumers needs in mind, they would relocate the refill lid-possably to the left or right a bit.
