Medicine ball is great especially with dual grips. I use them like kettlebells as well. So the ball can be a good substitute. You can use it for a large variety of workouts to incorporate a full body workout. From upper body, abdominals, lower body to include pulling & pushing exercises. The only concern that has not been tested with mine is that I don't feel I can use it for a workout throwing the medicine ball as high & forward as you can & let it hit the ground without potentially damaging it.
