I had a 15 year old stopwatch that had been running down the battery pretty rapidly over the last couple of months. Last battery lasted less than a week. I figured it had finally givem up the ghost.
The features I grew accustomed to were:
1) Stopwatch, with Lap splits (showing time on-screen of total time to last lap button push).
2) Countdown timer.
3) Current time (handy when resettng all the clocks at home and the office, twice a year.)
I searched for a couple of weeks to find a device with those features (with separate buttons for stop & lap)
I didn't NEED 3-line display, I consider it a bonus.
I don't like the "indiglo" style display on a couple of the competitors. (too much twisting the watch around to get the proper angle even in daylight)
I needed a larger display than most of the models I was able to see locally.
My vision is not so great anymore, backlight is a waste of a feature for me. If it is dark enough to need the backlight, I am operating on flashlight anyway.
I have only had it for a few weeks, and have used it 8 or 10 times (plus the semi-annual clock-resetting).
Very pleased.
Has the features I needed, plus a few I'll likely never use. Feels solid. A few of the others I tried felt a little Play-Scool. I don't beat my gear, so armour plating is not required.
Water resistance is nice, but also not really needed."..." Read more
