My dog is a chewer, but for some reason hasn't destroyed this toy. She loves it -- dispenses a little quickly but food doesn't get stuck (which was the reason she chewed another of this type toy). I've read that cat's don't like to play with a toy that does not allow them the opportunity to capture their pray therefore, we only use this toy occasionally. The 11 week old kittens are much more interested in the laser pointer than the 8 month old is. We try to use the laser pointer to direct them to their other toys where they do get more of the sense of the hunt. Our dog has destroyed every toy we have purchased in a matter of minutes. This toy is tough and everything they say and more.
