I'd been looking for a good-looking storage cabinet to hold my 600+ CD's that didn't take up an entire wall. I didn't have a lot of wall space to devote to it and all the cabinets I had seen before were either too small or way too large. As Goldilocks would say, this one is just right.Assembly was no problem for me. I put it together by myself in about an hour. All the joints fit right and there was no damage to the parts. Well, actually a couple of the corners on the backing panels were a little bent and wrinkled, [...] but they cannot be seen anyway so it's hardly worth complaining.Unlike my previous storage unit, which was just an open rack, the sliding doors and the design of this piece make it look more like furniture than a CD rack. I suppose it would do just as well with fewer shelves to hold DVD's but I'm not using it for that.I am please I found and purchased this item and would recommend it to anyone who has a lot of CD's and no where nice to put them."..." I love the look of this piece. It's stylish, quality storage for our DVDs. It was easy to assemble and the materials are sturdy. I'm confident, with proper care, this piece will last.
Because the middle shelf is not adjustable, I can only fit 4 shelves of DVD storage. The upper- and lower-most shelves fit CDs. While I realize the middle shelf must add structural stabilty, I wish I could have 5 shelves for DVDs. Another minor disappointment is the way the doors overlap when open. There are a couple of inches in the middle of each shelf, where no matter which side you slide the doors to, the DVDs will be hidden behind the doors and it's difficult to reach them. This isn't a huge issue though.

I love this cabinet. It does everything I wished it to do. I would definitely buy another one if I ever had the need. As to construction, my 36 year old son, who happened to be visiting, put it together quickly and without incident. He is very good at putting things together, so that was terrific. The doors work perfectly and the adjustability of the shelves is a great help. We put all of our VHSs,CDs, and DVDs in the cabinet, with a little room for move. Everything fits neatly. The nine inch depth is perfect. The oak color works well - it is a warm tone and looks authentic. The cabinet is also quite sturdy. I thought we would have to bolt it to the wall, but that was not necessary at all. It is free standing (against a wall) and does not move when we slide open the doors or fuss with the contents. It is quite heavy. When the 3 boxes were delivered, the UPS man needed an assistant to help him get them to my door. My husband and I needed help to get the boxes to the right room. So, this is not light weight. One caveat - one of the top corners is slightly damaged. It would be nice if that were fixed. But, all in all, I would without reservation recommend this cabinet. This is a very well made and attractive piece of furniture which we added to our home/office to hold all of our CD's and DVDs. After we downloaded all of our cds to our computer for use with our ipods,etc, we didn't want to throw out all the cds we had invested in over the years. We needed somewhere to store them that would make them accessible for when we wanted to listen to them. This storage rack not only looks good and is stable (unlike the last rack we were using), but also has so much room it holds ALL of our cds in one area(and we have 1000's), and even has room enough to hold all of our DVDs that were just scattered about. The best thing about this rack is how well it is made and how it doesn't "rock" or sway everytime someone walks by it. It is very stable and I am looking for other areas in our house which might benefit from other storage racks offered by R & S."..." Read more
