All DVD & CD Storage

This is one of the best CD towers I have ever seen or purchased! It was easy to put together, although I'm very experienced at putting together DIY furniture. All the pieces and pre-drilled holes matched up perfectly. All the pieces and hardware were in the box, and nothing was broken. Came double-boxed and UPS took very care of it in transit. The outer box was not damaged at all, as some other reviewers have mentioned. For first-timers, you might want to have a friend help out. This also hugs the wall great and has a very small footprint. And it looks great. It just blends into the background. Exactly, what I was looking for. The alignment, sizing and spacing of the shelves is perfect. It holds a full 1080 CDs. 30 CDs per shelf and 12 shelves per column (3 columns). The 30 CDs fit comfortably, not smashed. Some reviewers have complained that the shelves are not the full depth of a CD. I actually find this more convenient. It's much easier getting CDs in and out with this design. Also, the shelves are grooved on one side to fit into the brackets. The shelves are very secure and don't slide because of this. They hold the CDs very well. Also, because of the shorter shelf side to side, it does not sag when it is full of CDs. All in all a really terrific CD tower, especially for the price. The only disclaimer is that this is particle board, and not real wood. If this were a solid wood cabinet, it would cost three or four times the price. I had max-ed out my old shelving units (mainly tall CD towers) and had various DVD collections (TV, reality, sports) stuffed in boxes in the basement, so I wanted to incorporate my current CD collection (just under 500) and the orphan DVD collections in one place. I hesitated with this shelving unit (wondering if it was too big and bulky, and some of the negative reviews got me thinking) but ordered anyway and I have no regrets. It is awesome. I have everything together (and even have shelves for my burgeoning BD collection) and I have plenty of room to adapt. It is solidly built (for what it is) and looks good vith various media in it. The fact that the shelves are only as deep as a CD or DVD box make it even better and easier to get a CD/DVD out and it doesn't stick out too much, just enough, and doesn't have a lot of dust gathering empty shelf room. I have a huge CD/DVD collection and I've owned every type of CD/DVD storage unit you can imagine and I can assure you that this is the best unit that is currently on the market. They cost a little more but you get what you pay for - quality - this is solid all wood construction as opposed to particle board with a melamine surface or pre-engineered wood with a wood veneer surface. I have the black units and they look great - very contemporary. The only negative comment I have is that they are better suited to CD storage than DVD storage. The reason for this is because of where the one fixed shelf is located, which works perfectly for CD shelf spacing. I had to modify the units for DVD shelf spacing by drilling new holes for the fixed shelf. This allowed me to optimize the unit for DVD storage. My recommendation is that the manufacturer build in the option for where to locate the fixed shelf - one to accommodate CD storage spacing and one to accommodate DVD storage spacing."..."  Read more

I use this product to store all my video's, cd's and dvd's, from music, to movies, to anime collection in one accessible location..When I received my product, I opened the box, to check, verify and separate all pieces that the assembly instructions showed/stated that comes with it, in order to assemble the product.Then I just followed the instructions and illustrations, without any difficulties or problems.Since this product is both tall, wide and big in size and can hold an incredible amount on it's shelves. It went without saying (common sense)that it was necessary to anchor it against the wall, and did I so with an anchor, in each of the 3 major sections, hidden behind the "wood" backing.My cats, love to sleep on the vey top of it. No worries of any tipping or toppling over at all.Some other mention the shelves being "thin or flimsy". This does not cause any concern, for 2 reasons.1) The shelves are adjustable, so there are numerous holes on the sides and along the "wood" backing of each section, that you can easily added extra "toggles or the likes similar to those that are originally included with the product" to add/give it (the shelves) extra support, to hold the massive amount media it's capable of at full capacity. I planned to do so from the start and I have as the situation requires (again-common sense).2) I read all the reviews already posted on this product beforehand. However, the price, and quality and holding capacity of the product, [...] I think for all that, you more than get you money's worth. I had been seriously looking for a long time, comparing similar products, their size, holding compacity, with doors/no doors, etc. aong with comparitive pricing, both online and in stores.I can tell you, you won't find any other similar product anywhere, with all the features this one possess's, and definitely NOT for the price it is sold for here.That is why I knew that this is exactly what I wanted, and I love it.
