These a made of solid wood and come fully assembled, except for the shelves. Everything is packed well, but two shelves are screwed in. I ordered two right away for all of our DVDs (we have too many). One of the shelves in one unit was damaged, and they were screwed in at inconvenient levels. They were easy to replace and the splinter from the damaged one proved that even the shelves are solid wood, not pressed wood or plywood. Luckily, plenty of extra shelves and plastic shelf-pins (push in for the shelves to sit on) are included, at least for the DVD shelf sizes. I suppose if you wanted to use them for CDs, you'd probably use all of the shelves, but we don't. The quality is great on these and the design is elegant. I am tempted to buy another just for our CDs, but these will do for now. I highly recommend this product if you want something more upscale in quality and look than the usual cheap media storage shelves."..."  Read more

This particular rack was the best value for storage capacity that I could find in real, solid wood. The finish wasn't as dark as I expected, but is acceptable. I ordered the darker finish. The finish is a bit dull and there are a few slightly rough spots on the dowels, but the finish certainly meets expectations and is good for the cost. The wood quality is consistent and the piece is built well. The measurements are accurate although the feet do add a bit to the width. I only wish there was a similar, streamlined, thin-profile rack with some sort of simple solid wood door so I could close my collection away out-of-sight. I ordered 2 of these CD racks and 1 matching DVD rack (slightly taller) - all consistent in quality and finish. The racks are very stable against a wall and are perfect for storing a large collection. My hubby and I like them a lot. If you do not plan to fill each dowel shelf completely, though, I'd recommend purchasing some extra spacers to hold your CDs tightly and prevent them from tipping over and tumbling off the dowels. Also, FYI, to remove spacers, place them in the center of the dowels and slightly squeeze dowels together in order to remove or install spacers - they fit snugly in order to be secure."..."  Read more

[...] Looked beautiful right from the box. And that's pretty much all you have to do, just take it out of the box, remove the packing and set up the shelves in the configuration that you want. The rest of it is already put together. No tools are needed, and I had the rack in place and filled with all of my media in 15 minutes. I'm no engineer, and this rack is perfect for people like me with no assembly skills. All of the unit but the inside shelves are hardwood, with solid construction. The shelves are pressed wood and kind of lightweight compared to the rest of the rack, but they fit securely once they're put in. You get plenty of shelves and pegs for any configuration that you want. It's surprising how much you can get in the unit considering how compact it is. Overall, it's a beautiful piece that will look right in place with your other good furniture. This piece was delivered well-packaged and cushioned, nonetheless, both side pieces had dents on the front edges. Customer Service was great (I chose to communicate through e-mail) and replaced the damaged pieces promptly. The assembly does take some effort and do not expect to put it together in 5 minutes. The oak wood is very nice and well finished but the shelves are slightly short and, in my opinion, leave a bit too much gap between the shelf edges and the side walls of the unit. The back wall comes in two pieces and are made of some thin laminate-coated fiberboard. This leaves a seam running up and down the middle of the piece. If I paid $59 for this stand, I would have no gripe, but this unit was considerably more and a solid, wood finished back would seem more appropriate. Still, the unit is primarily nicely finished solid oak, appears to be sturdy and fits my needs."..."  Read more
