I have a huge CD/DVD collection and I've owned every type of CD/DVD storage unit you can imagine and I can assure you that this is the best unit that is currently on the market. They cost a little more but you get what you pay for - quality - this is solid all wood construction as opposed to particle board with a melamine surface or pre-engineered wood with a wood veneer surface. I have the black units and they look great - very contemporary. The only negative comment I have is that they are better suited to CD storage than DVD storage. The reason for this is because of where the one fixed shelf is located, which works perfectly for CD shelf spacing. I had to modify the units for DVD shelf spacing by drilling new holes for the fixed shelf. This allowed me to optimize the unit for DVD storage. My recommendation is that the manufacturer build in the option for where to locate the fixed shelf - one to accommodate CD storage spacing and one to accommodate DVD storage spacing."..." Read more

Just received this CD Storage Tower. Installation was very straightforward and easy. I would recommend 2 people to install the individuals shelves as they have to be guided through 4 wooden dowels that are about 5 ft. tall and the shelves can be difficult to handled if you are alone. The wooden dowels that act as guides for the shelves to keep them in place (to stop them from rotating on their own, might be somewhat flimsy and if you are not careful could easily break. I would have preferred a steel metal rod. The unit weighs over 100lbs when fully assembled so make sure you slide it, into place before you begin filling it with your CD collection. I would heartily recommend this for people who have a large CD collection and want to keep their wall space for other items. This tower is very sturdy, turns quite easily and holds 1000 CDs easily. Adjusting the shelves is not difficult, but you may need to adjust them all if you have not planned ahead. You cannot adjust the individual height of the shelves on each side. This item arrived in two boxes. I suggest opening both, reviewing the instructions and making sure you have all the parts. Mine actually had a couple extra pieces (a good thing in case you lose one). It's extremely sturdy and solid. I've read reviews that suggest having another person when you assemble it. It's not a bad idea but it can be done with one person. And like another reviewer suggested, make sure you know how you want this configured (all CD, part CD/part DVD, etc) because that will determine how many shelves you assemble and their placement in the carousel. Once they're in and together, you'll need to disassemble it to make adjustments. Overall, I'm very happy with it. I purchased this one exclusively for CD's. I'm just about out of room for my DVD's so I may purchase another just for those."..." Read more

Over the past seven years, I've incrementally (every couple of years) purchased three of these storage units to house my growing collection of DVDs, which now number over 2000. While the first unit received was very difficult to assemble, it became much easier with subsequent units. The last unit took about 20 minutes to assemble and I was alone. These storage units aren't cheap, but they are made to provide a lifetime of service and they look great in my den. There's just no substitute for solid hardwood. If my DVD collection keeps growing, I'll buy a 4th unit."..." Read more
