Just received this CD Storage Tower. Installation was very straightforward and easy. I would recommend 2 people to install the individuals shelves as they have to be guided through 4 wooden dowels that are about 5 ft. tall and the shelves can be difficult to handled if you are alone. The wooden dowels that act as guides for the shelves to keep them in place (to stop them from rotating on their own, might be somewhat flimsy and if you are not careful could easily break. I would have preferred a steel metal rod. The unit weighs over 100lbs when fully assembled so make sure you slide it, into place before you begin filling it with your CD collection. I would heartily recommend this for people who have a large CD collection and want to keep their wall space for other items. This tower is very sturdy, turns quite easily and holds 1000 CDs easily. Adjusting the shelves is not difficult, but you may need to adjust them all if you have not planned ahead. You cannot adjust the individual height of the shelves on each side. This cd tower is good looking, sturdy and everything you would hope for in cd storage!! The wood is heavy and of good quality..very good looking! [...]. It was a Christmas gift for our daughter who has a huge cd collection. My daughter and husband put it together in about an hour and a half. They both agreed the instructions were pretty good, all the pieces were included and they felt it really takes 2 people to construct it. I've been looking for something like this for at least 8-10 months....finally found it and ordered it. Should have gone with my gut instinct and gotten the black....the oak does not go with a single piece of my oak furniture. I may have to paint it in the future. Only one complaint: REALLY, the lazy-susan piece is a very thin PLASTIC, for a $200 item.....you couldn't use metal? I have it loaded and I can tell already that I'm going to have a problem with it sticking....my bet is that the flimsy plastic turntable will break in no time at all.....which means I'll have to buy a metal one, unload the entire unit and replace it. I'm 66 and female and managed to get it assembled in about 90 minutes. I did add in one step on page 4, I screwed gliders into the bottom to protect my wood floor. I'd recommend this with reservations and the advise to glue the side pieces (which I did as I assembled it), and buy a metal lazy susan and install that."..."  Read more

This item arrived in two boxes. I suggest opening both, reviewing the instructions and making sure you have all the parts. Mine actually had a couple extra pieces (a good thing in case you lose one). It's extremely sturdy and solid. I've read reviews that suggest having another person when you assemble it. It's not a bad idea but it can be done with one person. And like another reviewer suggested, make sure you know how you want this configured (all CD, part CD/part DVD, etc) because that will determine how many shelves you assemble and their placement in the carousel. Once they're in and together, you'll need to disassemble it to make adjustments. Overall, I'm very happy with it. I purchased this one exclusively for CD's. I'm just about out of room for my DVD's so I may purchase another just for those."..."  Read more
