This particular rack was the best value for storage capacity that I could find in real, solid wood. The finish wasn't as dark as I expected, but is acceptable. I ordered the darker finish. The finish is a bit dull and there are a few slightly rough spots on the dowels, but the finish certainly meets expectations and is good for the cost. The wood quality is consistent and the piece is built well. The measurements are accurate although the feet do add a bit to the width. I only wish there was a similar, streamlined, thin-profile rack with some sort of simple solid wood door so I could close my collection away out-of-sight. I ordered 2 of these CD racks and 1 matching DVD rack (slightly taller) - all consistent in quality and finish. The racks are very stable against a wall and are perfect for storing a large collection. My hubby and I like them a lot. If you do not plan to fill each dowel shelf completely, though, I'd recommend purchasing some extra spacers to hold your CDs tightly and prevent them from tipping over and tumbling off the dowels. Also, FYI, to remove spacers, place them in the center of the dowels and slightly squeeze dowels together in order to remove or install spacers - they fit snugly in order to be secure."..."  Read more

I bought this rack to use for CD storage in my dedicated audio room. I was pleased to find that it came fully assembled and ready to use. The quality of design, materials, and workmanship is excellent! I find it to be both attractive and functional, and I really enjoy using it. However, I do think this rack would benefit from the addition of feet. It is not very stable on my carpeted floor. I have it pushed up against a wall, and it leans forward (away from the wall) due to the tack strips underneath the carpet along the wall. It also will rock back and forth a bit on thickly padded carpet. This would not be an issue when using the rack on a wood or tiled floor."..."  Read more

The rack is well made. I like that it has four wide shelves rather than more shelves that are narrower; I own mostly multi-disk series, and I alphabetize the titles. Since I like to keep all the disks of a single series together on the same self, the wider shelves make for less wasted space. Picture shows that the top two shelves has a "book end" to keep the disks from falling over; in fact, the rack I have has a "book end" on the top shelf only. This could be a problem as the rack wobbles slightly. Fortunately, I can keep the other shelves pretty much filled, so this isn't a problem.
