First of all, this is a beach cruiser, not a road bike. That was one of the first things I had to get in my head. It's ideal for short trips over smooth surfaces. In that regard, it's great. The old fashioned appearance is a plus. It performs really well for what it's designed for. It's a comfortable ride, too. A word of advice---take your time assembling this bike.
