Kawasaki KX12G Girl's 12" Bike in Periwinkle Blue

We got this for our almost 3yr old granddaughter for Xmas and could not wait to see her expression. She is a little to short at the moment for it, but she was pleased with the gift. It is a well made bike and after a lot of research choose this one. Instructions for putting the bike together really were for the larger BMX bikes. But my husband was able to figure it out and had it put together in about 10-15 minutes. We would recommend this bike."..." Read more

Winther Tricycle - Low Winther
Winther Tricycle - Low

5 stars

I have used these Winther trikes for 5 years at my child care center. This is the children's first choice of trikes. Even the 4 and 5 year olds love it because it is lower to the ground, allowing them to take the curves fast."..." Read more

Glide Bikes Glide Bikes Mini Glider 12" Balance Bike

We looked at five mid-priced balance bikes, and we chose this one for 3 main reasons: 1. hand brake 2. Wayfair (our thinking here is that when he's gliding his feet rest in a similar area of the bike as when he will eventually be pedaling) 3. kickstand Our 4-year-old was lifting his feet to glide within the first 30 minutes. Not to say that's a plus of this particular balance bike, but it's been very fun for him! As a bonus, it's as light as a feather. The seat is almost at it's lowest setting so I bet he'll be riding this in our basement this winter, and well into next summer. When he's ready for a bike with pedals I'm sure we'll be passing this onto my nephew. One con (so far): occasionally our son bumps his ankle on the kickstand mechanism. It's annoying, but not a deal breaker."..." Read more

Smart Gear Classic Wooden Training Bike Smart Gear
Smart Gear Classic Wooden Training Bike

I bought two of these for my 4-year old twins. They LOVE them, and it's a great way to prepare for two-wheelers. One of the bikes had assembly holes that weren't quite lined up. As a result, the bolt warped and a small piece broke off the frame. I emailed the manufacturer some photos (smartgeartoys[@]), and their response was quick and completely satisfactory. They sent me a new frame free of charge, and it worked perfectly. The other bike was perfect too, so I'm sure the problem is pretty rare. Bottom line: I would definitely recommend these bikes to anyone with kids 5 and under who want a pre-2-wheeler bike. My twins just love zipping around the cul-de-sac on them. One of them refused to get on a bike with training wheels, but loves this one. The only con is that the seat is difficult to move up and down. I have a soon-to-be 3 year old, and would have liked the option of easily moving the seat down for him. But it involves removing two big bolts, then re-screwing them in. Other than that, it's perfect."..." Read more
