One thing about this bed is that it has a "nice" side and a not so nice side (at least on the twin). One of the bed rails on mine had chips and some minor but noticeable cracking. The other bed rail was perfect. I assume they ship it this way on purpose and that the bad side of the bed is meant to face the wall. That's fine for me since one side of the bed is against the wall, but keep it in mind if you're putting the bed in a location where both sides are visible. Also, the space between the bottom of the bed rail and the floor is higher than it looks in the pictures. I measured it at 8", so it's not quite the modern low slung look I was expecting. Overall though, a nice bed for the price and I'm not unhappy with it in any way. Build quality seems good and assembly was simple and straight forward. I love the look of this bed. I had it in a Queen size but wanted to upgrade to a king size so this is my second purchase of the same bed. Beautiful look .. the wood is a little soft on my king bed so be careful. Having said that .. my Queen bed looked brand new after 5 years of use. The only HUGE issue with the king size bed is that it will (quite literally) distroy your mattress (sinks and breaks from the center) due to it's complete lack of support. Here is what I did .. I went to [...], bought additional planks to run horizonally across, bought a 2" by 4" plank and had it cut to 2" larger than the size of the center legs (6 pieces) and spray painted them, bought 2 additional planks to run vertically and put 3 legs on each plank and attached it in the center (6 inches apart from the center). Now the bed has 6 legs in the middle .. I got rid of the 2 short and lame legs it comes with. I have one STRONG bed but had to go through a nightmare experience with a damaged mattress and warranty exchanges due to the bed. The Queen bed .. no complains .. at all .."..."  Read more

My husband and I bought this bed after shopping for months to find a four poster bed that will fit in our master bedroom which has sloped ceilings (our house is a Cape Cod built in1957.) Right now we have the bed made up with the columns low but when we move to our next house, probably in two or three years, we will be able to use the same bed with the columns set as a regular four poster bed. In addition to the practicality of the columns, the bed is stunning and the wood looks much richer than it does in the photographs. The carving on the footboard is really beautifully done. My husband and I recently had a bad experience buying a bed from another website, when the product arrived the headboard was chipped and the bed came with three boards (instead of a full slate) to support the matteress. After returning that nightmare we jumped back online in search of the perfect bed to fit our bedroom decor. He came across this and decided to purchase it.
