My husband and I bought this bed after shopping for months to find a four poster bed that will fit in our master bedroom which has sloped ceilings (our house is a Cape Cod built in1957.) Right now we have the bed made up with the columns low but when we move to our next house, probably in two or three years, we will be able to use the same bed with the columns set as a regular four poster bed. In addition to the practicality of the columns, the bed is stunning and the wood looks much richer than it does in the photographs. The carving on the footboard is really beautifully done. This bed is in our master bedroom - we purchased some antique Chinese armoires while stationed in Guam that had unique latticework and have looked for a bed that would work with them- and the bed fits with them perfectly. The lattice detail is gorgeous, and the bed looks as if we had it mde to go with the armoires.
