The bed is excellent. It has a sleek glossy black look that is very eye catching. The actual wood is fairly high quality. The description says it is distressed, but we found the distressed aspect of the bed almost unnoticeable which we preferred, as we are sure it will become distressed over time on its own. The headboard is pretty tall but not overwhelming, but you probably need taller than standard ceilings in your bedroom to pull it off. The assembly was very very easy.
