The bed looks fantastic. Note that a the King size is for an Eastern King mattress. It's not clear here but the bed does not require a box spring -- one would actually make the mattress too high. The picture here also has metal legs, but in fact the bed has a solid wood panel going to the floor underneath the headboard. The slat system is already assembled, and each slat has a gap no more than 2in (ok for smaller coil mattresses).Assembly requires two people, and the bed doesn't feel completely sturdy until you screw the slats on. [...] I think I managed to scratch the surface of the wood slightly when I hand vacuumed the foam debris off. I was very impressed with the way that the bed was shipped (and how quickly) The individual boxes were all wrapped together on a long pallet and there were even additional pieces of wood fastened to the pallet to keep things from falling over. The first part I opened was the mattress support which was impressive. It is one solid piece that folds/unfolds down the middle made of wood and metal. Very sturdy and well built. The headboard was completely pre-assembled so the only assembly was attaching the feet, foot board and side runners, as well as fastening down the mattress support to the bed frame. The quality of the headboard, foot board and side runners all seems very high and the finish on the wood is beautiful. It's a very dark espresso almost black looking in the right light. Assembly was reasonably quick, there are no written instructions, just an exploded diagram but it is mostly sufficient. I think the only part I had trouble with is figuring out where they wanted me to use the 10 washers that were in the parts bag. Overall I think this is a great bed for the price, so if you like the design I definitely recommend it."..."  Read more

We made sure to have an apartment that fit a king bed, but in doing so we gave up some space for a wardrobe--which is why the 6 drawers on this bed were perfect! It also helps to have no footboard (makes for easy bed making) and a leatherette headboard (makes for a comfortable head/back rest). A must have for small spaces."..."  Read more
