I recently received the Abbyson Living Azara King Bed I purchased for my loft, and I love it. I'm a minimalist when it comes to furniture, so the style is right up my alley. The attractive design is simple, but bold at the same time and exemplifies functional art. I looked at several hundred beds online before choosing this one.
The bed arrives in three boxes (one for the headboard, another for the footboard and the last for the sides and slats). Actual assembly time is about twenty minutes, but since the items are packaged so well, you'll spend more time removing the items from the boxes and disposing of the packaging. Assembly, which involves connecting the sides to the headboard and footboard, manually connecting the legs to the slats (I forgot to count them, but I think there are twelve), distributing the spacing between the slats and screwing the slats to the sides with the provided screws (screw gun required), can easily be accomplished by one person.
The bed is a good height (i.e., you're not sleeping on the floor and you don't have to climb into it) and most importantly, sturdy and quiet. I can bounce around in the bed without it squeaking or moving. The new furniture smell isn't overbearing.
The downside is the bed requires a good wiping after assembly since it's a little dusty from the packaging. Also, the footboard had a nick the size of a pencil eraser. I really had to look for it, though. Fortunately, it's not apparent."..." Read more
