This comforter and sheet set is very nice-looking in person, but it's a bit darker than the picture shows. The border around the brown is not white but gray (it looks more white in the picture), and there are unevenly spaced pinstripes in the brown center fabric which is a nice touch. The gray outer border has a nice sheen to it.
Unfortunately, even though it says machine washable, it got stuck in the spinner and part of it shredded pretty badly (and smelled like burnt plastic). Luckily my bed fits against a wall and it's the side that doesn't show. Make sure you use a commercial washer, even though this fit in my washer, again it was a bit tight and got stuck. My fault on that, but I've never had anything shred so badly, which is due to the polyester blend on the dark gray fabric which upon further inspection is a tad thin (mid-range quality).
Overall, however, it is very comfortable. I like how there are tufts that keep the interior filling in place. I sewed them up myself a bit to reinforce them (other comforter experiences have taught me to do this), and it really adds a nice look to my room.
I would definitely recommend getting the gray pillows that match. I also purchased the matching sheets (not as great quality), but also got some platinum striped sheets and they look equally as good with the comforter.
