The cast iron pans are designed with an accessible handle which makes it easy to carry to the oven and out of the oven. The size of the loaf is an ideal size for sandwich making slices. When receiving these pans, they were actually ready to use because they had already been seasoned. I used the bread pans with bread recipe for my weekly bread baking for quite a few years. Baking the bread in the Camp Chef cast iron bread pans was amazing. The bread baked well with a nice crust on the top and without a mushy soft bottom. Because the pans get extremely hot which happens with cast iron, I am ensured that there is even heat. I also tried the cast iron pans baking banana bread. Once again I experienced wonderful results. If you are looking for a cast iron bread pan for yourself, or as a gift to a new bride to be or anyone else for that matter, this would be a great purchase. As much as I LOVE baking, normally, the main thing that prevents me from actually doing what I love is thinking about clean-up. Even the non-stick pans require lots of oil, or still require one to scrub hard after baking. Enter Silicone baking heaven -- no more stressing out about baking. Not only do I avoid having to dump oodles of oil to coat the pans, but I save myself so much time in clean-up afterwards. Seriously, these trays have given me the green light to bake so many things (for example, sticky messy things like eggplant for homemade baba ghanoush, or difficult to separate flax crackers) and I can't thank silicone enough for that. Ive spent my entire life using cookie sheets that had non-stick coatings, and cookie sheets that had none. I have small hands, so grabbing a hot pan, even with a pot-holder, is risky. These pans are heavier than any Ive ever used, and the handles are easy to grasp, easy to hold onto, and keep me from burning my fingers (while wearing a pot-holder mitt). The lip around the sides makes it much more probable that anything that goes into the oven will come out on the pan, not in cinders removed from the bottom of the oven.
