My husband and I were looking for a solid wood walker for our 10 month old baby daughter that was relatively inexpensive. We had tried a few others on the market but all were made of flimsy plastic materials, although cute, were more expensive than this walker and completely unstable for a baby learning to stand and walk. In fact, on more than one occasion our daughter had fallen down and the other flimsy plastic walkers ended up on top of her, hence the reason we had tried so many. The great things we adored about this walker were: 1. The overall cuteness of the walker; the crocodiles chop away as the child walks along behind the walker. 2. The stability of the walker. This walker was well made of wood and was very stable; our daughter has not once tipped this over on herself. The walker has a safety "foot" design that prevents the walker from being pulled over on top of the child if they fall down on their bum and pull on the handle when they go down. 3. There are rubber rings on each wheel that prevent slippage on bare or uncarpeted floors. We have hardwood floors and our daughter still had great traction so as not to get going too quickly. We also tried this on carpet and our daughter easily made it around the room. 4. The height of the walker for my daughter was at chest level which was perfect for her to walk in a more normal/natural walking position, allowing her to learn to balance effectively. I had read reviews about the height being lower than average but I did not find this to be a problem at all. Overall we love this walker, it's a quality wood walker for a great price, we feel comfortable that our daughter will be safe using the walker without hurting herself and best of all, our daughter loves it too! Baby loves to play with it. The only thing to caution is vertical sticks sticking out, especially when blocks are not on the train. It is not colored and may not be seen easily and be stepped on. My baby received this piggie playset when she was only 10 mo old. She still loves to play with it at almost three years. The houses are soft fabric, the piggies and the big bad wolf are soft plastic (like rubber duckies). The piggies squeek when you push their tummies in, and the wolf has a mouth hole and actually blows air. It comes with a story sheet, in case you forgot the story. But we play a million games with the piggies and the wolf. They all have parties in the big house, they are farmers, and of course the classic story. Our wolf is not really bad though, he is an actor. He's really a nice wolf. Sometimes the piggies have visitors form other toy-sets too. This is a very versatile toy. There is nothing a baby could get hurt on. It's cool enough to hold a 10 yr olds interest, as we noticed when family visited recently. I also like how everything is stored in the big house, which has a handle on top. So it's a great toy to take when visiting grandparents or traveling. Compact but yet very interesting. We keep it on rotation with all other toys, meaning I will put it away for a month at a time and then when I pull it back out it's like THE BEST TOY EVER. Again. And again....
