What's it all about? ALFI

Have had my eye on this product for a long time but didn't want to spend as much as it costs. That being said, I'm really happy with my purchase. I like to keep water on my night table and this little carafe keeps water from the refrigerator good and cold for two days! That really surprised me...the literature said it would keep liquids hot or cold for up to twelve hours. I haven't tried hot liquids yet but I can't imagine that the results would be a great deal different. This product has, so far, delivered even more than it promised.

gorgeous form and excellent function

This is a gorgeous, art deco style carafe that keeps liquids hot or cold for hours. It's such a luxury to have perfectly hot tea two hours after you've brewed it! This is the second carafe I've bought from the same manufacturer -- the other is white enamel instead of chrome. The only small downside is, once you've poured a cup and closed the stopper, after a few minutes you start to hear a hissing sound coming from the carafe. I think it has something to do with condensed water on the vacuum seal. I keep a napkin beside the carafe so I can wipe off the stopper after I pour a new cup of tea or glass of water -- that seems to solve the problem.
