Switch or remote doesnt work It is a pretty torchiere, but the little dinky button to turn it on worked just once, then it got pushed in, wont snap back out and now I have to plug it in for it to work. Remote does not work either. Too bad. I'm calling customer service today. I have no idea how to fix it myself. Because of this I cannot recommend this very nice looking and reasonably priced torchiere. It is so annoying. |

Dinky Switch & remote doesnt work The on/off switch is a dinky little button which got permanently pushed in after a couple of times. Now we have to unplug and plug in for it to work.. Remote also does not work. Too bad, I should have read the reviews as most mention this problem. I won't order from this manufacturer again because of cheap switch. I expect the product to work when I order it. It is too big to ship back, and I don't know how to fix it. Very annoying. Lamp is very good looking and offers good lighting but dinky switch kills it. Also it won't accept the new energy conservation light bulbs that we are supposed to be switching to. It said so on the lamp. What gives with that? |

heavy weight, looks good Pros - Attractive lamp, provides good light, takes compact florescent bulbs. Base is heavy and stable. Cons - acrylic bowl. Remote control is a bit ornery. |

Works great: easy to use remote. The lamp brightens a whole room, at whatever brightness you want. Both the remote and the lamp button are easy to use. I put a small glowing star on the remote button so I can see it easily in the dark. The remote is entirely black. Actually, putting a distinguishable feel-mark and/or luminescent marking on the remote button would be a nice improvement. |

Bright Idea, Poor Performance Annoying high-pitched electronic sound on all dimmer settings but not when lamp is on full light. The on/off/dimmer button on lamp pole often doesn't work. Same with the remote. |

I like the lamp! The remote control and dimmer option is just what I wanted. |

Attractive-looking lamp works alright We've had this floor lamp for 3-4 months now. It's not the cheapest torchiere lamp but also not the most expensive. I chose it because it came with a remote control, a feature my husband finds handy. He likes that it uses incandescent bulbs rather than halogen which produces a lot of heat. I like that it has a dimmer and the design is minimalistic. When you turn the light on, it remembers how bright you had it last time it was lit and it illuminates at the same level. What impressed us both is when you switch the light off, it takes a few seconds to dim before shutting off completely, giving you time to cross the room while the light is still on. With a child in the house, this has been a really useful feature as toys often litter the floor. The only drawback is that the lamp occasionally randomly lights up and on the odd occasion, turns itself off. We don't mind it as much as the lamp is often secondary lighting but it is odd that it does this. |
