Accent Storage & Organization

This is a wonderful, handsome & functional piece of furniture. It is reminiscent of the REAL furniture of old, & would enhance any room. It is sturdy, solid, yet not heavy as press board is; & it has 3 shelves within. The doors open easily & have inner magnets at the top-centers, near the knobs, so the doors are easy to close and they stay closed. Although the piece is white, it does not seem to scuff easily. Small decorations on the exterior give the cabinet charm. Read the instructions carefully & be sure to assemble the bottom shelf into the cabinet as one of the first steps you do. This is a great shoe rack for the price. I looked at all the racks, and ended up selecting this one not only for the price but for the added convenience of extra shelving if needed. It's very sturdy. The package came wrapped and double-wrapped to insure that none of the parts got chipped or bent. I was very pleased with that, because being made out of metal wire, it could easily have been damaged in shipment. So I appreciate the extra care in packing. Putting it together is simple...but you might need an extra pair of hands to do it! All the pieces are separate. You simply hook the bottom shelf on one end support piece, then hook it on the other end support piece, and then add shelves as you go up. It took a bit of wrangling for one person! But it really was simple - just be forewarned that you might need some help and don't get frustrated (like I almost did). Since the shelves literally just lie on top of the outer supports, I was worried that when I loaded it with shoes it might collapse. I worried for nothing. It is very sturdy and there is just the right amount of clearance so that the shelves do not come off easily, they are hooked on pretty tight. I can get 12 pairs of shoes on it, and it could easily go into the bathroom as a small shelf if you need something near the bathtub, for instance. I wouldn't put books on it, because there is not enough back support to hold books upright, but towels, knick-knacks etc. would be fine. I purchased 1 and loved it so much I bought a second one. Love the look and it totally matches other furniture in my kitchen. The one drawback I see with this product is the pegging used to hold the shelves inside. There are no wholes for pegs to brace the middle of the shelves. And I don't know if the wholes are deep enough for the existing pegs. Shelves keep falling off it items on them are of any weight. Made the mistake of putting dishes on one and 10 broken dishes later I've replaced them with tupperware. Love the unit, just don't put any items with any type of weight on the shelves."..."  Read more

I purchased two of these for the foyer in my home and these are perfect. They are functional and work perfectly for my little guys. My boys absolutely love them and now take ownership of their "lockers". They hang up their coats and store their book bags in them with no problems. In addition, I purchased some storage baskets for the bottom for their little shoes. We use the shelves to store borrowed library books and hat/gloves. They are made of particle board so the quality isn't that great but for our purposes- organization- this works great. I am happy. Oh and you can adjust the doors by using the hinges.
