I ordered this piece to complete my bedroom furniture and color scheme. People coming into my great room can see the entrance to my bedroom off to the left and I have it sitting against that wall in the bedroom. I ordered a gorgeous Bird of Paradise tropical plant to sit on top of it and the colors blend so well. I had ordered a chest from a name brand store whith a tapestry design and it sits behind my couch. It is much bigger but quite a lot more money too. This parallels that beauty as visitors catch a glimpse of both as they enter the living area. It is quality craftsmanship - good paint job, drawers fit properly and work as expected, solid piece. And no assembly required! It would also work well as a night stand in a bedroom. Could use as an accent table in the living room. It's not huge, but I didn't want huge. I was excited when I found this cabinet because I live in an apartment without a linen closet....voila! The Hartley Cabinet became my new linen closet at a fraction of the cost of having a closet constructed here in the city. I am THRILLED. Forget what it does, the cabinet itself is beautifully made, its a fine piece of furniture that my friends think I found antiqueing and had customized. The molding at the top nearly reaches my ceiling and makes it look a built-in but I love that I can take it with me to my next apartment, There is a TON of storage in this piece, drawers, shelves and it looks beautiful closed. Searched and searched for a cabinet to put under my television in our living room.... and wanted this size and height. I didn't want it to look like a media cabinet, even though it was going to hold equipment. I was thrilled when I found this piece... and it turned out to be a real gem.
