I ordered this piece to complete my bedroom furniture and color scheme. People coming into my great room can see the entrance to my bedroom off to the left and I have it sitting against that wall in the bedroom. I ordered a gorgeous Bird of Paradise tropical plant to sit on top of it and the colors blend so well. I had ordered a chest from a name brand store whith a tapestry design and it sits behind my couch. It is much bigger but quite a lot more money too. This parallels that beauty as visitors catch a glimpse of both as they enter the living area. It is quality craftsmanship - good paint job, drawers fit properly and work as expected, solid piece. And no assembly required! It would also work well as a night stand in a bedroom. Could use as an accent table in the living room. It's not huge, but I didn't want huge. great looking cabinet!---more for looks than function though. it happens to be perfectly suited for my use---an old seaside cottage renovation! and it will serve as an adequate desk for vacations. it is small in scale but will be fine for a laptop or postcard writing....the inside of the cabinet is slatted on the bottom and the drawers have cane bottoms so i will install a piece of glass or heavy plexi for added support but it will store papers and mail and a few office necessities. overall, it really is the look i wanted and it is nicely constructed and very well-detailed, but as an actual writing desk you would need a bit more room."..."  Read more

The texture of this cabinet provides a great contrast to the laminate-topped metal desk and work table in my small office at work. It is light in weight, sturdy, the doors do not rub when they are opened and closed, and there are no funky smells. The image shown on Wayfair makes the piece look rougher than it really is. I expected to snag clothes and pick up splinters, but it is quite smooth. It also appears to be reddish in the image but, in actuality, is a golden color with brown and faint red highlights.
