Accent Cabinets & Chests

The texture of this cabinet provides a great contrast to the laminate-topped metal desk and work table in my small office at work. It is light in weight, sturdy, the doors do not rub when they are opened and closed, and there are no funky smells. The image shown on Wayfair makes the piece look rougher than it really is. I expected to snag clothes and pick up splinters, but it is quite smooth. It also appears to be reddish in the image but, in actuality, is a golden color with brown and faint red highlights. I happened to buy this lovely cabinet, but the color was a gorgeous Sage color (in-between a muted bluegreen), very lovely indeed. BUT, the best part is I bought it at a store in Oakdale, Minnesota called Home Goods for only 249.00 What a buy! There isnt one thing wrong with it, the color is the best. I was looking for a narrow cabinet to put in our upstairs hallway, and this one certainly fits the bill. Doesnt block the hallway. We keep all of the toilet paper in it. This is a spacious, beautiful, well-constructed dresser, but there are a couple of things any potential buyers should consider. It is a somewhat cooler shade of gray than in the photo, and either the paint or the drawer wallpaper adhesive has a strong, unpleasant smell that will take quite a while to air out. The drawers are removable, so my suggestion would be to pull them out, thoroughly wipe down the inside of the dresser with a damp cloth, wipe the sides and the inside of the drawers, and if have a backyard or a balcony, air out the drawers for a few hours before putting the whole thing together again. It might still retain some chemical smell on the inside, but much less noticeable and it will be on its way to disappearing that much sooner.
