Wood veneer is beautiful, once assembled it is wonderful. Only issue with cabinet is that the dowel holes are MUCH larger than the dowel pins and DO NOT FIT SNUGGLY! Highly recommend using capenter's glue on all these joints or you WILL have problems. Maybe mine was just off, but all the drilled holes were too large. Dowel holes should be snug and require the pins to be lightly tapped/hammered into the receiving socket. Not the case. Only other issue was the retaining seal holding the glass in the main door. It had come completely out in shipping and had to be reinstalled. Troublesome and took some time, but not a show stopper, just bothersome to have to do. Last issue was the lock/latch assembly on the bottom, solid door did NOT work properly. Had to get a piece of wood and screw to back of facing so the lock blade would actually work since it was too short to catch on the back of the cabinet facing. This also needs to be addressed by the manufacturer. Once again, a great looking cabinet, pretty well made (just don't overtighten any of the screw joints or you WILL pull the parts out of the substrate particle board it is made out of), and looks / works well. Took approximately 3 hours to put together due to glueing and replacing the seal on the door glass. Wood veneer finish is top notch, distressed wood look is not overdone, doors are solid wood, but bulk of unit is from pressboard / particle board material. Still, price / quality make this a pretty good buy and would buy another if needed. Recommended buy for a simple, good looking, serviceable gun case."..."  Read more

I ordered this piece to complete my bedroom furniture and color scheme. People coming into my great room can see the entrance to my bedroom off to the left and I have it sitting against that wall in the bedroom. I ordered a gorgeous Bird of Paradise tropical plant to sit on top of it and the colors blend so well. I had ordered a chest from a name brand store whith a tapestry design and it sits behind my couch. It is much bigger but quite a lot more money too. This parallels that beauty as visitors catch a glimpse of both as they enter the living area. It is quality craftsmanship - good paint job, drawers fit properly and work as expected, solid piece. And no assembly required! It would also work well as a night stand in a bedroom. Could use as an accent table in the living room. It's not huge, but I didn't want huge. I love that it's just the right size and can fit almost anywhere. I use it to put all my undergarmets inside. That's why it's called a lingerie chest. It is not designed to hold sweaters and large clothes. Has a lot of pieces to it and takes few hours to finish. I was working by myself and it took me about 3 hours. Now I am only 20 yrs old but I was able to put it together perfectly. Now considering this is the only thing I ever put together by myself I did a darn good job on it. The only thing I didn't like was some scratches left on it but theat marker they gave did the job.
