AV Carts

AV Carts was very good about communicating with me regarding the lack of availability of the color I wanted originally (no more putty color). The cart arrived very promptly and while it took my husband a while to put together I must say that it suits our needs perfectly. I needed something that would hold our MAC desktop/keyboard as well as our Canon MX7600 multiuse printer (which just fits on the lower shelf). In particular I was looking for a cart with a sliding shelf so that I could pull the printer out to use the scanner on the top. Another function on the cart that is really great is that it has a self-contained power strip so all the cables are on the cart and not making a mess on the floor. Here at Verizon Arena we use our A/V carts for audio visual equip, but we in food and beverage saw it as a portable cash drawer and register stand for our beer carts and portable bars. This is a well-made, solid and easy to assemble cart. The wheels are very high quality and roll easily even on carpet. The attachable three-outlet extension cord is a nice feature. Two things you need to know about this cart before you purchase it...first, it is easy to put together despite a substandard assembly sheet. There is a graphic illustrating the first step which, take my word for it, is patently indecipherable. Fortunately the assembly is intuitive enough that you really won't need instructions. Second thing is the odor. The material used emits a fairly strong smell, and it isn't a pleasant one. For those people who are quite sensitive to this kind of thing, this cart may only be appropriate for outdoor use, that's how strong the odor is. Hopefully some additive can be used in future iterations of this device to mitigate this problem. This cart is height adjustable, not just a one-shot assembly and you are stuck with it. We bought the Boss Cart as a sort of rolling studio in a hotel rental environment. We can store multiple AV gear including CD carousels, VHS/DVD combo, audio mixers, and put our LCD projectors on top. The wings on the side are ideal for Laptops, and the cart is prewired to take most of our gear. One nice addition is the cubby for speakers, so the unit can be completely self contained. Only a few shortcomings: Cart is flimsy at certain areas and prone to dent, normally not an issue, and the top shelves are not adjustable.
