Great in the sun - but beware Winds!
Scott from Denver– Verified Buyer
I bought my first of these umbrellas to provide shade over a balcony. The space is 4x9, and we have the umbrella stand (bolted to the deck) near the railing, so it provides shade for most of the day. This is a great product, the shade it provides is good, the material strong, waterproof. And it looks really nice against the natural tones of our house color - very sophisticated. [...]The downsides to this product are related to its size - it is big! I think it must be about 8 feet tall, and the rectangular shape means it is sometimes a little awkward to put up, as the four corners tend to get caught on our stuff when I extend it. If it were in a clear space it would be fine. However, due to the size of the shade, you really need to put it into a base which is secured - either concrete and post in the ground, or as I have done, mounting it in a receiver post which is bolted to the deck. Also don't leave the house without putting it down unless you are sure there is no wind - otherwise it, and part of your house, will end up in Kansas with Dorothy.

The wooden pole is extra strong, and the material blocks all of the sunlight from coming through the sliding glass doors on both decks. The only negative is that they are not waterproof. It seems to me, they should be sprayed with waterproofer before leaving the factory.

Good umbrella so far. Be aware that twist is a bigger deal with a rectangular umbrella so be ready to secure the center rod solidaly into a base or other way to keep it from turning.
Love the umbrella

Outdoor Patio umbrella. Easy to assemble. Seems that the material would be easy to keep clean and is washable. Good quality for the price!

This umbrella is strong and sturdy and easy to roll up and down. Is was hard to find forest green and I am glad I looked on this site. I would definately recommend this umbrella.
Just what we needed

This is on our deck, where the windows of the back of the house are. This helps shade the interior of the house as well as keep out outdoor table shaded.
Cool in Texas from McKinney, TX– Verified Buyer
I have a deck without a cover and in Texas it gets over 100 degrees, but on my deck it can get upwards of 110. The umbrella I purchased is absolutely perfect! I screwed two discreet eye bolts into the outside wall and used tiny bungees to secure two corners of it and a plumbing flange screwed to the floor of the deck keeps it in place and it's marvelous! It shades and cools and I don't have to worry about the wind. One of the best purchases I've ever made!
