Good design, better for CD's
Brian from New Orleans, LA– Verified Buyer
There are several things that make this product better than average and somewhat unique which is why I purchased it. Given it's large capacity, it has a narrow profile (9 inches) so it goes up against the wall and does not take up much room. Also, the sliding doors make it even easier to fit into a tight spot. It is particle board and is about as nice as you can expect given that fact. It will hold 500 CD's in standard jewel cases (250 per side, 50 on each shelf). Another nice thing is that the sliding doors can easily be removed and put back after it is assembled. This can be useful if you fill it to capacity. Why 4 stars and not 5? It only holds 320 DVDs in standard cases. However there is enough vertical room to hold more if only there were more pre-drilled holes for the shelf mounts. Using the holes provided, you can only use 3 shelves per side if you are storing DVD's. It seems that there is enough room to squeeze 4 shelves of DVD's, but drilling the holes yourself into the particle board is too risky. If you are using it for DVDs you will have 4 shelves and hardware leftover. Nevertheless, this is a great design and the trade off with the particle board is that it is very affordable. A hardwood version with more flexibility for shelf placement would make this the ultimate (and worthy of the extra cost), but it's still worth purchasing as is. Note: It may be more suited for smaller Blu Ray disc cases. I don't own enough to test it, but I would be interested to know if you can use an extra shelf on each side when storing Blu Ray discs.

I purchased two of these cabinets. The color is a bit darker - richer - than the photo. They are very well made, definitely worth the price and then some. They are slim and don't require a lot of room in that respect, but don't get me wrong they are still a substantial piece of furniture. I love that the easy sliding doors eliminate the issue of it falling forward like those that allow you to store items on the doors, making them front heavy. AND there is a center support, so CD's/tapes don't get "lost" in the middle. You can easily see all. The design would go with any decor. Extremely EASY to put together. About 20 minutes for the first one and 15 for the second. The manufacturer and designer thought of everthing with this one! Highly recommended. Don't hesitate, you won't be disappointed.
Sleek and slim

We purchased this Media cabinet to house an ton of kids and adult dvds. Half we use for the kids and half we use for the adults. It was easy to put together and the sliding doors glide very smoothly. I am not sure how many Dvds we can actually get in it, but it does hold a lot. The only issue we have had that if you purchase the DVDs with the cardboard collector covers or the DVDs that are in big box sets, the cardboard casing is a little to big for the shelf and occasionally the doors get caught on them. But other than that we love it.

These look sooo nice. Very sturdy and I love the color. Its almost an espresso, a very dark cherry color. They are beyond easy to assemble. The only reason I gave it 4 and not 5 starts is there is no way these hold 340 DVDs. They hold more like 235. I fit on average 29 DVDs on one row. And there are a total of 8 rows. Four on each side. So a grand total of 232 DVD. This was disappointing since I thought I would be able to hold 340. So now I will probably have to get another one, not that this is bad. Just frustrating I didn't get what was advertised. But still overall very happy

Assembly is not something about which the average person looks forward to, but a reasonable
Great product! Worth more than it costs!

After reading all of the reviews I decided to go with this DVD stand. It took me 45 minutes to put together (almost) by myself (but I am 7 12 months pregnant, husband did lifting cause it is nice and heavy) Very nice design, very solid and sturdy. The reviews were all correct 1) it is darker than the picture shows (but a nice deep cherry). 2) No matter how you arrange the shelves you will only get about 240 standard DVDs on the shelves. 3) It is very sturdy and for the price, is a great bargain. 4) Very easy to put together and the instructions we very easy to understand. I gave it a 5 star because the reviews were accurate, and thus got what I expected (if not more)
Great Cabinet for DVDs
Kathleen from Roseville, CA– Verified Buyer
This cabinet is perfect for my needs. It came in 2 days and was easy to assemble. It works great for our DVD storage. I have over 200 movies to store. The doors slide easily. I had been looking for months and couldn't be happier with this one! However, it is darker than the picture so be aware. I would highly recommend this cabinet.
A very pretty cabinet.

I bought this cabinet to replace my old press board cabinet. It is very pretty, and I put it together by myself in less than an hour. I like the dementions and it's sturdiness. I read all the reviews before I purchased the cabinet and what the reviewers said was true. It's much darker than I expected, like black cherry. And it does have an odd oder that is quite strong for the first month or so. It does not hold as many DVDs as advertised. about 30 DVDs per shelf. I also wish that there were inset handles on both ends of the doors. When they are open, the handle is behind the front door, so it is hard to close again. I do like the cabinet though and would recommend it to a friend, provided they understood the things I wrote above.
Another satisfied customer.

I recently bought two, because I have a massive media collection including DVD's, CD's, VHS, and even some odd old games (Super Nintendo, N64, PS1/PS2).
Looks Great-Works Great

We use it in the hallway near the bathroom as a utility cabnet. It looks nice, it works well and it's narrow so it isn't in the way. It was easy to put together and the doors slide with little effort. (It would be nice if they put handles on both sides of each door-when both doors are on the same side, even if you push the front door the other way a little- there's nothing to grab onto to reposition the back door - you sort of have to palm it to move it till the handle is exposed.) But-We like it very much- and I'm sure it works well with CDs.also!
